Assistant Teaching Professor
The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick’s Fredericton Campus invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor. Subject to budgetary approval, this position will start as early as September 1, 2026. Review of applications will begin July 1st, 2026 and will continue until August 11th, 2026. Salary level will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Applicants are expected to have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Computer Science. Applicants should have completed at least one year of teaching experience (including as a teaching assistant) at University level in Computer Science courses in both introductory and advanced levels. A PhD in Computer Science or related discipline is not required but will be considered an additional asset.
Applicants for this position should present evidence of knowledge of Computer Systems and Architecture, Data Communications and Networking. A demonstrated experience in web development (both front and back end) will be considered an additional asset.
Teaching Professors support the work of the Faculty of Computer Science through teaching courses in classrooms and laboratories, and academic service, which includes course development, participation in faculty and university committees, event organization, and more. This position will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses offered by the Faculty of Computer Science such as machine level programming, computer architecture and organization, systems software development, net-centric computing, principles of data communications and networks modeling, programming on the web, and others at our Fredericton, NB campus.
