An opportunity currently exists for an experienced and innovative leader to serve as Associate Dean for Institutional Research at our Pleasantville, NY location. Hybrid position with travel to Pace campuses in New York City, Pleasantville, and White Plains as needed.
Reporting to the Associate Provost for Academic Strategy and Student Success, this role provides university-wide leadership for institutional research, assessment, learning analytics, accreditation support, and data strategy. The Associate Dean will lead the Office of Planning, Assessment & Institutional Research (OPAIR), helping the University leverage data to improve student outcomes, support strategic planning, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the University's institutional research, assessment, and analytics strategy.
- Oversee data governance, institutional reporting, and data quality initiatives.
- Direct assessment processes and support a culture of evidence-based decision making.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics to support academic and strategic priorities.
- Lead learning analytics efforts to identify trends and improve student success.
- Manage institutional reporting, including IPEDS, accreditation, rankings, and state reporting requirements.
- Support Academic Master Plan assessment, measurement, and progress reporting.
- Oversee course evaluation systems and related assessment technologies.
- Partner with academic and administrative leaders on strategic research and planning initiatives.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including AI applications in institutional research.
- Supervise OPAIR staff and lead cross-functional teams on strategic projects.
Required
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Statistics, Data Science, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
- Eight or more years of progressively responsible experience in institutional research, assessment, analytics, or related higher education functions.
- Experience supporting accreditation processes and compliance reporting.
- Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, predictive analytics, and data visualization.
- Experience with institutional data systems, relational databases, and analytics tools such as SPSS, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated success leading teams and collaborating across multiple stakeholders.
Preferred
- Experience with Middle States accreditation.
- Experience with learning analytics initiatives.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics and assessment tools.
- Knowledge of IPEDS, U.S. News, and New York State reporting requirements.
