College of Liberal Arts Adjunct Faculty 2026/2027

Job Duties:

Teach assigned courses as scheduled and meet all designated class periods.
Prepare course materials such as syllabi, lectures, and assignments.
Engage students in active learning and facilitate meaningful class discussions.
Assess student learning through examinations, quizzes, and other assignments.
Provide timely feedback to students and maintain records of their progress.
Maintain regular office hours for student consultation and support.
Submit assessment reporting data and materials and participate in departmental assessment activities, as required by supervisor.
Post syllabus and maintain gradebook in Blackboard or other official online course delivery platform.

Minimum Required Education

A master’s degree or higher in a program of study in the discipline in which they may be hired to teach is required and prior teaching experience is preferred. The degree must be from a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
Adulter faculty teaching in graduate programs should hold the terminal degree determined by the discipline and have a record of research, scholarship or achievement appropriate for the graduate program.

Prior teaching experience at the college or university level is desirable.
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the subject area of the course(s) to be taught.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
