About the Health Research and Technology Group
The Health Research and Technology Group (HRTG) is a functional division within ANSTO's Nuclear Science and Technology Group. The HRTG provides support to both current nuclear medicine supply and the introduction of new and improved manufacturing processes. To address the growing demand for emerging radioisotopes, the HRTG will pursue the development of reactor-based radioisotopes through separation, automation and analytical method development. This work delivers critical know-how for the organisation whilst also supplying radioisotopes for internal and external research programs with our academic, industry and clinical partners. The HRTG contributes to the development of more effective treatments to achieve better patient outcomes, through the development of innovative approaches in radiotherapy, as well as new diagnostics, therapeutics, and theranostics. The impact of these endeavours will be improved diagnosis and treatment of significant diseases such as cancer. ANSTO does this using its world-class nuclear infrastructure and capabilities in radiochemistry, radiobiology, and complex radiation physics modelling.
