Human Resources Compensation & Benefits Specialist
Job Summary
This position reports directly to the CHRO/Assistant VP - HR and is responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of a market-based compensation system (CUPA) and administering the employee benefits plans. This role will play an integral role in the administration of university pay policies, performance management, and benefits plans.
Essential Functions
- Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position at the University
- Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or non-exempt and appropriate salary range based on relative CUPA data
- Benchmarks jobs against CUPA data and other market data to determine competitive ranges for each position
- Assist in designing compensation programs
- Prepare and maintain job classifications and salary scales
- Gather data from market-based compensation survey (CUPA)
- Research compensation & benefits policies and plans
- Update organizational charts
- Coordinate FMLA
- Other related duties as assigned
