Job Summary:

We're looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused professional to join our team as a One-Stop Student Financial Counselor. This role will guide students through financial planning, account management, and financial aid processes while delivering exceptional service. Salary pay range: $24.41 - $26.89 per hour
Actual salary offered is determined by the candidate's experience, education, skills, and other factors, including internal equity and university funding resources.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement working both in-person (Mission Valley Campus) and remotely.

What We're Looking For:

• A Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of office and customer service experience, preferably in education.
• Strong working knowledge of Title IV Federal Student Aid programs and financial aid regulations.
• Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage sensitive situations tactfully.
• Proficiency in systems like PowerFAIDS, Workday, or similar student information systems.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Providing personalized financial counseling to prospective, current, and returning students, ensuring alignment with their academic and funding plans.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for financial aid, guiding students through applications, verifications, and resolving account discrepancies.
• Managing and analyzing student accounts, including payments, holds, refunds, and collections, while maintaining compliance with federal and institutional policies.
• Collaborating with departments such as Enrollment, Admissions, and Student Success to ensure a seamless student experience.
• Hosting workshops and orientations to educate students on financial literacy, aid programs, and institutional policies.
• Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of office and customer service experience required.
• 1-2 years of experience in customer service or education-related.
• Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant.

Physical Requirements:

• The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time.
• Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal.
• The work is performed in an office environment.
