Position Summary
The Division of Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Children’s Hospital is seeking an individual to join a busy and productive academic practice. This is a full-time, open rank faculty position on the tenure/tenure track, variable track, or fixed-term track.
The Division offers an exceptionally collaborative environment for the care of children with the full spectrum of pediatric allergy, asthma, and immune deficiency disorders. Clinical care is provided at the UNC Hospitals Children’s Specialty Clinics at Carolina Pointe II and the UNC Children’s Allergy and Immunology Raleigh Clinic. Specific emphasis is placed on providing cutting edge diagnostic and treatment options for food allergy, asthma, and allergen immunotherapy leveraging the strong basic and translational research programs within the division.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
The successful candidate will be MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent) with a background in pediatrics or medicine/pediatrics. Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Allergy/Immunology and licensable in North Carolina.
The successful applicant will be directly engaged in the clinical and educational missions of the division. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required. Prior experience with food immunotherapy, oral food challenges, and the use of biologics for allergic diseases is expected.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in mentoring medical students, residents, and other learners is preferred.
