POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of Surgery at USF is seeking an academic Open Rank-Surgical Oncology /HPB Faculty to join the Division of Oncology Surgery.
Responsibilities
Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.
CLINICAL DUTIES
Outpatient clinical assignments; Complete clinical obligations such as; timely completion of charts, attend quality assurance meetings, follow-up with patient requests, and maintain good citizenship to the USF & TGH community. Adherence to patient protocols. General call coverage determined by division Chief.
TEACHING DUTIES
Provide quality bedside teaching to students and residents. Complete medical student and resident evaluation in timely fashion. Participate in weekly M&M and resident education.
RESEARCH DUTIES
Active participation and enrollment in clinical trials.
Qualifications
MINIMUM
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
- Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
- Must have current, unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Florida or be eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Florida.
- Candidates must be Board Certified in General Surgery or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
PREFERRED
- Successful completion of a Surgical Oncology or HPB fellowship.
- A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e. not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal or state health insurance program.
