Job Description
This position offers the opportunity to drive innovation in parallel algorithm design, leverage emerging hardware acceleration, and publish in top-tier HPC and spatial data conferences and journals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Original GPU Computing Research: Design, develop, and optimize high-performance parallel algorithms for similarity search, high-dimensional spatial reasoning, and large-scale data joins
- Prototype Development & Evaluation: Implement, benchmark, and rigorously evaluate algorithmic prototypes on state-of-the-art hardware (including modern GPU clusters and emerging accelerator architectures)
- Scientific Writing & Publication: Lead and contribute to the preparation of high-quality manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and flagship conferences
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary research team, mentoring graduate students and contributing to collaborative grant-funded milestones
Qualifications
- MS in Computer Science with a strong focus on Parallel and Distributed Computing
- Proven track record or deep technical understanding of GPU computing and parallel programming models
- Strong background in data structures and algorithm design, particularly involving spatial data, graph algorithms, or approximate similarity search
- Excellent proficiency in C/C++ and performance profiling tools
