RETAIL SUPERVISOR - DINING SERVICES

Job Summary

Ithaca College Dining Services is seeking a Retail Outlet Supervisor. These individuals are leaders in the units who deliver outstanding customer service, help customers navigate Grubhub, and support the unit in setup, supply and product maintenance, cleanup and closedown.

Supervision

This position reports to the Assistant Manager for Satellite Retail.

Job Responsibilities

1. Lead operations and student staff in day-to-day operations.
2. Provide outstanding customer service to students, staff, faculty, and guests.
3. Greet guests with a warm, friendly demeanor.
4. Fulfill customer orders via Grubhub: receive orders; complete orders accurately to customer specification and with high service rate; package orders; identify ready orders for customers and ensure their receipt of order.
5. Prepare food and beverage orders with swiftness and accuracy.
6. Model accurate, safe, efficient, and pleasant performance expectations for student and temporary staff.
7. Maintain knowledge of all menu offerings, including ingredients, preparations, and allergens.
8. Comply with HACCP regulations and procedures.
9. Set up serving stations with all required menu items, service utensils, food and beverage containers, utensils, condiments, and items for cleaning and sanitizing.
10. Maintain clean and sanitized workstations, cleaning as necessary and when required by standard operating procedures.
11. Assist guests with special requests.
12. Communicate often, clearly, and professionally with co-workers and management.
13. Perform inventory, stocking, and requisitions as needed.
14. Learn and adhere to all food preparation guidelines established by the culinary leadership team for Ithaca College Dining Services.
15. Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and cultivate an inclusive, diverse, and respectful Ithaca College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students, and visitors to the College. Promote a flexible, collaborative, and inclusive work and living environment and engage in educational opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion.
16. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months previous experience working in a food service operation or other relevant setting.
• Excellent customer service aptitude.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service while working effectively and respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, overtime, and some holidays.
• The position is considered to be essential during emergency situations and the incumbent is subject to being requested to report to work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional education and barista/cashier experience preferred.
• ServSafe Certification.
• Working knowledge of food preparation procedures and equipment, proper sanitation, and HACCP procedures.

This position is 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
