Visiting Lecturer/Teaching Assistant Professor of Biology
The Position:
The Department of Biology at Lander University, a public comprehensive university in the Upstate region of South Carolina, comprises a cohesive and forward-thinking faculty who deliver an outcomes-based curriculum that has been carefully aligned with the goals of the AAAS Vision and Change initiative. This modern approach involves not only our major programs but also courses for non-majors as well. Our department seeks to hire a full-time, visiting lecturer or visiting teaching assistant professor to begin August 10, 2026.
Teaching responsibilities will primarily be teaching lectures and labs for a general biology course for non-majors, but other opportunities may be possible depending on the successful candidate’s background and the needs of the department. The ideal candidate will share our passion for innovative teaching using high-impact practices. Salary commensurate with experience.
Contract period is nine months. Normal teaching load is 15 contact hours each semester.
Minimum qualifications:
Applicants must have at least a master’s degree in the biological sciences and demonstrable aptitude for teaching biology at the college level.
