Rate My Professor Abhijit Pandya

Abhijit Pandya is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Florida Atlantic University. He holds a Ph.D. from Syracuse University and received his undergraduate education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, along with an M.S. in Computer Science from Syracuse University. With over 35 years in academia and extensive experience in both industry and university settings, Pandya has maintained joint appointments with the Department of Communication Disorders and the Center for Complex Systems and Brain Sciences. His research interests include neural network algorithms, VLSI implementation of neural networks, low power CMOS circuit design, digital circuit design, layout and verification, as well as cross-disciplinary work spanning physical sciences, brain science, medical sciences, engineering, and computer science. He serves as director of a research lab and has contributed to clinical trials as a clinical researcher.

Pandya is a patent-winning inventor and has played a key role in establishing a long-term research program at Motorola in partnership with FAU that engaged over 200 engineering students from India. He has mentored numerous young professionals and worked with university administrators on international collaborations. Pandya serves on the boards of the Institute for Certified Computer Professionals, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital and Nirma University in India, Hindu University of America, and Tunisia Tech University.
