Rate My Professor Afroditi Kouraki

Dr. Afroditi Kouraki serves as a Research Fellow in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences at the University of Nottingham. She obtained her PhD from the University of Nottingham in August 2022. Her doctoral research employed a biopsychological approach to examine contributors to chronic pain, utilizing advanced statistical analysis alongside clinical-based research to explore interactions among psychological, social, and biological factors including genetics and the gut microbiome.

In her postdoctoral position, Dr. Kouraki collaborates with Professor Ana Valdes on studies assessing the impacts of diet and exercise interventions on pain outcomes for individuals with osteoarthritis, applying multi-omics and machine learning methodologies. She holds interests in ageing-related research and the role of lifestyle interventions in supporting improved health.
