About Ahmed

Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Said Lutfi Abdelhady is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Khalifa University. He earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from The University of Manchester in the United Kingdom in 2011 and a B.Sc. in chemistry from Mansoura University in Egypt in 2002. Following his doctorate, he served as an assistant professor of inorganic chemistry at Mansoura University. From 2013 to 2016, he held a postdoctoral fellowship at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow and later researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2017, advanced to senior group leader at the Polish Center for Technology Development in 2021, and joined Khalifa University in 2022.

Dr. Abdelhady’s research focuses on semiconductors, halide perovskite single crystals and nanocrystals, and metal chalcogenide quantum dots. He has co-authored publications in leading journals including Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, ACS Energy Letters, Advanced Materials, and Chemical Reviews. His teaching includes courses such as Introduction to General Chemistry, Recent Developments in Inorganic Chemistry, and Recent Developments in Nanomaterials. He is affiliated with the Center for Catalysis and Separation at Khalifa University.
