About Akitomo

Akitomo Yasunaga is a Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Aomori University of Health and Welfare. He previously served as Associate Professor at Bunka Gakuen University. Yasunaga completed his doctoral studies at Kyushu University Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies in the Department of Behavioral Systems. His research focuses on health psychology, with particular emphasis on the relationships between physical activity, sedentary behavior, happiness, and health outcomes in aging populations.

Yasunaga has contributed to numerous studies examining how health behaviors influence well-being and longevity. Recent work includes investigations into associations between state happiness and mortality risk, as well as the mediating roles of physical activity and sedentary behavior in relation to happiness and social capital. He is affiliated with Aomori University of Health and Welfare’s Graduate School of Health Sciences and collaborates on projects addressing environmental and individual factors related to physical inactivity.
