Professor Andrew Hayen is Professor of Biostatistics in the School of Public Health at the University of Technology Sydney. He previously held positions at the University of New South Wales, including as Associate Professor. Professor Hayen graduated from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours and the University Medal in Mathematical Statistics. He also holds a Master of Biostatistics, where he was recognised as a standout graduate, and a PhD in Mathematical Statistics. At UTS, he serves as coordinator of the Master of Public Health program and has held the role of Deputy Head of the School of Public Health. His research focuses on the application of statistical and epidemiological methods in public health and clinical research, with particular expertise in the analysis of complex linked data from routinely collected sources. Areas of interest include biostatistics, epidemiology, refugee health, and the health of blood donors. Professor Hayen has contributed to numerous research projects and publications in these fields, drawing on more than fifteen years of experience in statistical methodologies for public health and clinical applications.
