Professor Ashok Kumar Rastogi serves as Additional Professor in the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna. He joined the institution on 15 March 2018. His academic background includes an MBBS degree from LLRM Medical College, Chaudhary Charan Singh University. Professor Rastogi’s primary academic interests center on forensic pathology, with additional focus on forensic neuropathology and medico-legal investigations.
Throughout his career at AIIMS Patna, Professor Rastogi has contributed to research in forensic medicine, including studies on head injury pathogenesis, immunogenic responses following trauma, and structural changes in the anterior hypothalamus as markers in heat stroke deaths. His work has been presented at international forums, such as the world’s largest neuroscience meeting in San Diego, USA. He has authored publications in indexed journals and a book titled Autopsy. Professor Rastogi holds memberships in professional bodies, including as Executive Member of the Medicolegal Association, and has participated in departmental initiatives advancing forensic education and research at the institute.
