Binggui Cai is affiliated with the School of Geographical Sciences at Fujian Normal University in Fuzhou, China. He is also associated with the Key Laboratory for Humid Subtropical Eco-Geographical Processes of the Ministry of Education and the Institute of Geography at the same university. His research involves the analysis of stable oxygen isotopes in stalagmites to reconstruct past climate variations, including the East Asian summer monsoon, Heinrich events, and other abrupt climate changes during the Quaternary period. Publications include studies on records from caves in Fujian Province and other regions in China, such as work on the three-phase structure of the East Asian summer monsoon and intra-seasonal variability in tree-ring isotopes.
