Dr Boitumelo Ramatsetse is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at Stellenbosch University. He holds a Doctor of Engineering (D-Eng) degree, a Master of Technology (M-Tech) degree in Industrial Engineering, a Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) degree and a National Diploma, all obtained from Tshwane University of Technology. He has more than ten years of teaching experience in the higher education sector and previously held positions including at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Dr Ramatsetse is an NRF Y-rated researcher whose work focuses on the application of reconfigurable manufacturing systems to develop modular and adaptable manufacturing solutions. He serves as a Commissioner on South Africa’s National Planning Commission in the Office of the Presidency and chairs its Strategy Task Team. In 2024 he received the NRF Research Excellence Award for Early Career/Emerging Researchers, and in 2021 he was awarded the NSTF-South32 TW Kambule-NSTF Emerging Researcher Award. He is a member of the Southern African Institute for Industrial Engineering and the South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering.
