Carlos Cesar Crestani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Drugs and Medicines at the Faculdade de Ciências Farmacêuticas de Araraquara of Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). He serves as Vice-Director of the faculty for the term 2025-2029 and holds the position of National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) Research Fellow at Level 1B. His academic background includes a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Universidade Estadual de Londrina in 2004, a master's degree in Pharmacology from the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto at Universidade de São Paulo in 2006, and a doctorate in Pharmacology from the same institution in 2009.
Crestani is recognized as a Professor of Pharmacology, with research focused on the neural mechanisms underlying cardiovascular control and the physiological responses to emotional stress, primarily investigated through animal models. He maintains an active research program supported by grants from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) addressing topics such as the role of specific brain regions in autonomic and cardiovascular responses to stress.
