About Carrie

Carrie Cuttler is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Washington State University and Director of Experimental Training. She also holds a faculty appointment in the Neuroscience Program within the College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in 2008.

Dr. Cuttler directs the Health and Cognition Lab, where her research examines the potentially beneficial and detrimental effects of chronic cannabis use and acute cannabis intoxication. Her work focuses on links between cannabis use and mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and PTSD; physical health outcomes such as pain, sleep, headache, and migraine; stress; and cognitive functions including memory, decision-making, executive functioning, creativity, and attention. She investigates effects associated with varying concentrations of THC and CBD as well as cannabis concentrates. Dr. Cuttler teaches courses including Elementary Statistics in Psychology, Experimental Methods in Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Fundamentals of Developmental Psychology, Cognition and Memory, Experimental Design, and Non-Experimental Design.
