About Chidochashe

Dr Chidochashe Nyere is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Thabo Mbeki African School of Public and International Affairs at the University of South Africa. He holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Pretoria. At the University of Pretoria he taught Academic Literacy and Political Science. He has also taught Pan-African Thought and Leadership and Conflict Resolution in Africa at the postgraduate level at the University of Johannesburg.

His research interests include African politics, academic literacies, decolonial thought, human rights law, international politics and Pan-African thought. The global Covid-19 pandemic: The politics of science or the science of politics?; Nyere, C. 2022. Unmasking the diversionary global imperial designs in the invasion of Libya in 2011: Ten years on and counting; and Nyere, C. & Zondi, S. 2021. The asymmetry, disparity, inconsistency, and double standards of global coloniality: The case of Libya in 2011. He is currently working on a book project on disaster management in Africa.
