About Ching-Chiuan

Ching-Chiuan Yen is a Dean's Chair Professor and Associate Professor in the Division of Industrial Design at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He holds a PhD from Birmingham City University. Yen serves as Deputy Head (Research) in the Division of Industrial Design and was the founding Head of the division. He is the Co-Director of the Keio-NUS CUTE Center and Deputy Director of the NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing (AM.NUS).

Yen’s research focuses on industrial design and design research, with an emphasis on design methodologies. Under his supervision, students have received more than 50 international or regional design awards. Projects associated with his work have earned recognitions including the James Dyson Award (Singapore) in 2012 and the Braunprize in 2007. He has secured over S$30 million in research grants.
