Rate My Professor Christine Bentley-Wang

Christine Bentley-Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University, affiliated with the Division of Palliative Medicine. Her work focuses on pediatric palliative care and related areas including the impacts of parental incarceration on children.

She previously served as a pediatric resident at McMaster and was the inaugural recipient of the Dr. Martha Fulford Advocacy & Dedication Award. In 2026, she co-authored a study published in PLOS One estimating the number and percentage of children in Canada who experience parental incarceration, using whole population administrative and vital statistics data. This research identified approximately 169,740 children under 18 who experienced parental incarceration between 2015 and 2021.
