Professor Dai Liang is a physicist who joined Fudan University in 2026 as a professor in the Department of Physics and the Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics. Born in Hangzhou in 1988, he earned a B.S. in Physics from Peking University in 2011 and a Ph.D. in Physics from Johns Hopkins University in 2015. Prior to his appointment at Fudan University, he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Physics at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was named a Sloan Research Fellow in physics in 2021.
His research focuses on cosmology and astrophysics, including work on black holes and gravitational waves. At Fudan University, he contributes to teaching in a joint program with Nanjing University involving visits to major astronomy facilities in China.
