About Daiane

Daiane Leite da Roza is a professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Faculdade de Saúde Pública of the Universidade de São Paulo. She holds a bachelor's degree in Statistics from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, awarded in 2007. She earned a master's degree in Sciences in 2011 and a doctoral degree in Sciences in 2015, both from the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto of the Universidade de São Paulo. She completed postdoctoral training in Public Health from 2016 to 2018 and in Psychiatric Epidemiology from 2018 to 2022.

Her research focuses on biostatistics with emphasis on the epidemiology of mental disorders, Bayesian methods in health, and spatial analysis of health data. She serves as a supervisor in the Postgraduate Program in Public Health at the Universidade de São Paulo. Key publications include studies on adolescent pregnancy rates and socioeconomic factors in São Paulo State published in 2011, spatio-temporal patterns of tuberculosis incidence in Ribeirão Preto from 2012, and ecological analysis of adolescent birth rates in Brazil from 2020. Additional work addresses excess mortality in patients following first psychiatric hospital admission, published in 2023, and plasma amino acids profiles in first-episode psychosis from 2020. Her contributions center on applying statistical methods to public health challenges in Brazil.
