Daiki Chiba is an Associate Professor at the Library and Academic Information Center of Tokyo Metropolitan University, where he joined in April 2026. He earned his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Waseda University in 2011, 2013, and 2017, respectively. Prior to his current appointment, he held research and senior management positions at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) and NTT Security (Japan) KK from 2013 to 2026, including roles as Researcher at NTT Secure Platform Laboratories and Senior Manager at NTT Security. He also served as an Adjunct Researcher at Waseda University’s Research Institute for Science and Engineering and as a part-time lecturer at institutions including Waseda University and Osaka University.
His research specializes in information security, with a focus on cyber security, network security, internet measurement, domain name security, phishing and web threat detection, and the application of large language models and AI techniques to security challenges. Chiba has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, including papers in Computers & Security, IEEE Access, and proceedings of conferences such as ACSAC, ASIACCS, IMC, RAID, and DIMVA. Notable works address topics such as lifecycle-based risk assessment of domain names, LLM-based phishing detection, and analysis of malicious infrastructure. He has received multiple awards, including best paper awards at SecureComm and CSS, research awards from IEICE and IPSJ, and internal NTT honors. Chiba is a member of IEEE, IEICE, and IPSJ, and participates in program and steering committees for security-related workshops and conferences.
