About Daniel

Professor Daniel Gómez is a Professor in the School of Science at RMIT University. He is a Chemical Physicist with an interest in the optics of materials. He joined RMIT as an Australian Research Council Future Fellow in 2016. His research interests include plasmonics, photochemistry, strong light-matter coupling and quantum batteries. Research fields associated with his work encompass nanochemistry, nanomaterials, nanofabrication, physical properties of materials, energy generation, conversion and storage, and quantum technologies. He has received multiple awards and fellowships, including the ARC Future Fellowship (FT140100514), ARC Post-Doctoral Fellowship (DP110101767), Victoria Fellowship, MCN/ANNF Technology Fellowship, Australian Academy of Science Scientific visit to USA, and the Chancellor's Prize for Excellence in the PhD thesis (Science and Engineering). Professor Gómez serves as a member of the Council of The Australian Optical Society and as a reviewer for scientific journals including Nature Communications, Nano Letters, ACS Nano, ACS Photonics and Advanced Optical Materials. He is open to supervising Masters Research or PhD students in areas aligned with his expertise.
