Daphne Silva Pino is a professor at the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) in the Instituto de Geociências. She earned a bachelor's degree in Geology from USP in 2009, a master's degree in Earth Sciences with specialization in structural geology from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi in Canada, and a Ph.D. in Mineral Resources and Hydrogeology from USP in 2019. Her academic work centers on hydrogeology, with particular emphasis on fractured aquifers, groundwater contamination, and advanced characterization techniques including X-ray microtomography and synchrotron methods.
Professor Pino serves as Director of the Groundwater Resource Center (CEPAS|USP). She has contributed to research on nitrate contamination in urban aquifers in São Paulo state and has co-authored publications on datasets of environmentally contaminated sites as well as studies on groundwater management at contaminated locations.
