David Gomulya is an Associate Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship with tenure at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University. He holds a PhD in Strategic Management and Technology Entrepreneurship and a Master of Science in Business Administration from the Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. He also earned a Master of Science in Innovative Manufacturing Systems and Technology from the Singapore-MIT Alliance and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical and Production Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. Prior to joining Singapore Management University in 2018, he served as an Assistant Professor at Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, from 2011 to 2017, following more than seven years of professional experience in industry and start-ups. He completed the Chartered Financial Analyst examinations.
His research focuses on corporate governance, strategic leadership, and entrepreneurship, with publications in leading journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Journal of Applied Psychology. Notable works examine CEO succession following financial misconduct, signaling in entrepreneurial contexts, and stakeholder reactions to organizational events. He has received awards such as the McGraw-Hill/Irwin Distinguished Paper Award, the Nanyang Business School Research Excellence Award, the Lee Kong Chian Fellowship, the Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal, and the Institute of Engineers Gold Medal. He serves as Academic Director of the Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and contributes to editorial review boards and conference presentations. He teaches undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, and executive education programs.
