Dong-Hwan Choe serves as Cooperative Extension Specialist and Professor in the Department of Entomology at the University of California, Riverside. He earned a BA in Agriculture from Korea University in 2002, followed by an MS in Entomology in 2005 and a PhD in Entomology in 2009, both from the University of California, Riverside.

Choe’s research centers on urban entomology, insect behavior, and chemical ecology, with emphasis on developing integrated pest management strategies for species including ants, bed bugs, termites, and cockroaches. His work combines laboratory studies of innate and learned behaviors with field testing to create novel control methods, often incorporating analytical chemistry and device design. He maintains an active publication record with numerous peer-reviewed articles on topics such as toxicant translocation in ants, bed bug detection and trapping materials, termite biology and management, and insecticide resistance in cockroaches. Choe collaborates with researchers across disciplines and industry partners to advance practical urban pest solutions.
