About Eng King

Professor Eng King Tan is a neurologist affiliated with the National University of Singapore (NUS) through academic appointments at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He holds an MBBS from NUS awarded in 1989, along with MRCP (United Kingdom), FAMS (Neurology), and FRCP (Edinburgh). Professor Tan’s research interests encompass clinical and neuroimaging studies, functional genomics, and experimental therapeutics in movement disorders. He has served as editor for the European Journal of Neurology, Parkinsonism & Related Disorders, and Parkinson’s Disease journal, and has held leadership positions in the International Movement Disorders Society, including as a founding member of its Asian-Oceanic Section. His career includes numerous professional appointments and committee roles in Singapore and internationally. He has received awards such as the National Outstanding Clinician Scientist Award, SingHealth Distinguished Researcher Award, and the Yoshikuni Mizuno Award from the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society – Asian and Oceanian Section. Professor Tan directs research initiatives and contributes to training and policy in neuroscience and clinician-scientist development.
