About Evelyn

Dr Evelyn Law Chung Ning is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and a Senior Consultant in the Division of Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics at the Khoo Teck Puat – National University Children’s Medical Institute, National University Hospital. She specialises in developmental and behavioural paediatrics. Dr Law received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences with cum laude and departmental honours from Northwestern University in 2002. She completed her residency in paediatrics through the Harvard Medical School/Boston University School of Medicine joint programme in 2010 and her subspecialty fellowship training in developmental-behavioural paediatrics at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children’s Hospital in 2013. She also completed the Clinical Effectiveness Programme in biostatistics and epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr Law is the only full-time paediatrician in Singapore who has fulfilled the three-year ACGME requirements and fellowship training for developmental-behavioural paediatrics and obtained subspecialty board certification from the American Board of Pediatrics. She joined the National University Health System in 2014.

Dr Law’s research focuses on the life course of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder from preschool to adult years, examining influences of family and child factors such as socioeconomic status, parental psychopathology, and health on developmental outcomes. Her studies include a prediction model of ADHD diagnostic stability in preschoolers and trajectories of executive functioning in children from varying socioeconomic and family backgrounds within the Growing Up in Singapore Towards healthy Outcomes birth cohort study. She maintains a strong interest in neurodevelopmental late effects of chronic medical conditions and prematurity. In her clinical role, Dr Law provides care for children with learning and behavioural difficulties and developmental delays. She contributes to training as the NUH Fellowship Director of Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics.
