Rate My Professor Feida Zhu

Feida Zhu is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Associate Dean (Partnerships and Engagement) at the School of Computing and Information Systems, Singapore Management University. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, awarded in 2009. His research focuses on data mining, graph mining, and social network analysis, with applications in web mining, management information systems, business intelligence, and bioinformatics. Zhu previously served as Founding Director of the Pinnacle Lab for Analytics from 2013 to 2019 and Director of the DBS-SMU Life Analytics Lab from 2015 to 2016. He has received several honors, including the Early Career Award at the 23rd Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD) in 2019, Best Paper Awards at DASFAA in 2016 and other conferences, the Lee Kong Chian Fellowship (2016-2017), and the DS Lee Foundation Fellowship (2015-2016). Zhu has contributed to the academic community through roles such as Organizing Committee Chair for DASFAA 2014, Program Co-Chair for SNAKDD 2013, and numerous program committee memberships for conferences including WWW, ICDE, ICDM, and VLDB. He has authored or co-authored publications on topics including social identity linkage, bursty topic detection from Twitter, and network mining for business intelligence.
