Francisco de Souza Portugal is a professor at Universidade de São Paulo affiliated with the Center for Carbon Research in Tropical Agriculture (CCARBON). His work includes contributions to research on soil health indices for mangrove ecosystems, as part of collaborative efforts at USP involving the Luiz de Queiroz School of Agriculture (Esalq-USP).
