About Fusuo

Fusuo Zhang is a professor at China Agricultural University. He earned a bachelor's degree from Northwest Agricultural College in 1982, a master's degree from Beijing Agricultural University in 1985, and a PhD from the University of Hohenheim in 1989. He completed postdoctoral research at China Agricultural University in 1990. He was appointed associate professor in 1991 and full professor in 1993. He served as dean of the School of Resources and Environment starting in 1997 and as director of the Resource Environment and Food Security Research Center from 2012. He is dean of the Institute of Green Agricultural Development and president of the National Academy of Agriculture Green Development at China Agricultural University.

Zhang specializes in plant nutrition. He is a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences. His honors include the State Science and Technology Progress Award, the State Natural Science Award, the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, the TWAS Prize in Agricultural Sciences, the IFA International Crop Nutrition Award, the Outstanding Achievement Award of Hohenheim University, and the GCHERA World Agriculture Prize. He has held honorary degrees and appointments from multiple universities and serves on international committees related to plant nutrition and nutrient management.
