About Gabriel

Gabriel Arantes Tiraboschi is a postdoctoral researcher at Université de Sherbrooke in the Faculty of Education, affiliated with the Groupe de recherche sur l'inadaptation psychosociale chez l'enfant (GRISE). He holds a Ph.D. in Psychobiology from the University of São Paulo (2017–2021), which included a one-year internship at Université de Montréal, a Master’s degree in Psychobiology from the University of São Paulo (2015–2017), and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the same institution (2010–2015). His research examines the effects of screen media use and digital media on the psychological, cognitive, and educational development of children and adolescents, with particular attention to outcomes such as anxiety symptoms, ADHD-related behaviors, and academic motivation.

Tiraboschi has served as a postdoctoral fellow at Université de Sherbrooke since 2022, leading projects that utilize longitudinal large-scale datasets in developmental psychology. Prior to this, he held teaching positions including fixed-term lecturer at São Paulo State University (2021–2022) and lecturer at Calafiori University (2019), along with graduate teaching assistant roles at the University of São Paulo. In 2025, he received the Prix Relève étoile Paul-Gérin-Lajoie from the Fonds de recherche du Québec for his contributions to research on adolescent internet use and anxiety. He has authored or co-authored peer-reviewed publications on topics including associations between video game engagement and ADHD symptoms in early adolescence and the predictive links between internet use and anxiety in adolescent girls. Tiraboschi also serves as a peer reviewer for journals such as the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry and European Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
