About Gina

Gina Rumore is Research Development Consultant at the Minnesota Population Center at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. In this capacity, she coordinates proposal submissions with the Administrative Core and works closely with research staff and faculty members to develop interdisciplinary collaborations in population research. Her educational background encompasses biological research, writing, and science studies. She completed post-doctoral research in the Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior program at the University of Minnesota. Before joining the Minnesota Population Center staff in fall 2012, she engaged in freelance science writing, consulted on grant proposals, and developed a senior thesis course for the History of Medicine Program at the University of Minnesota.

Rumore facilitates bi-weekly Writing Hunker sessions, offers one-to-one writing consultations, and edits drafts of grant proposals and articles. She co-authored the article "Ten Common Grant-Writing Mistakes" with Jude Mikal, published in the Chronicle of Higher Education on January 4, 2018. She received the Rachel Carson Prize for Best Dissertation in Environmental History from the American Society for Environmental History in 2010.
