Gizem Yilmaz is a biomedical scientist and research fellow at the Centre for Sleep and Cognition in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore. She holds a PhD and has a background in bioengineering. Her research focuses on biosignal processing to study human physiological functioning.
In her doctoral work, Yilmaz examined electrophysiological signals to map neural pathways in the neuromuscular system. In her current role, she investigates relationships between cardiovascular signals such as ECG and PPG, sleep metrics, and wearable device data, with the aim of advancing population health outcomes.
