Dr. Gopinath Sutendra is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. He holds appointments in the Division of Cardiology and serves as Associate Chair Research for the Department of Medicine. Dr. Sutendra is the Canada Research Chair in Cardio-Oncology and Molecular Medicine. His research focuses on cardiovascular and oncology topics, including mechanisms of chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity and the development of therapeutic approaches in cardio-oncology. He completed his PhD in a cardiovascular research laboratory and pursued postdoctoral training in cancer biology at Oxford. Dr. Sutendra has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications in the fields of medicine and has received recognition through research chairs and funding awards supporting his work in translational health.
