About Gregory

Gregory Magalhães Costa serves as professor adjunto at the Instituto de Aplicação Fernando Rodrigues da Silveira (CAp UERJ) of Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. He previously held substitute professor positions at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Colégio Pedro II, and CAp UERJ. His academic background includes a doctorate in Letras (Letras Vernáculas), with a focus on Brazilian Literature, completed at UFRJ between 2012 and 2016 as a CNPq scholar; the thesis is titled Ressonâncias da Literatura Brasileira em Grande Sertão: Veredas. He also earned a master’s degree in Ciência da Literatura from UFRJ between 2007 and 2010 as a FAPERJ Nota 10 scholar, with the thesis Grande Canção: Civis, A Musa no Texto em Forma de Espiral, and a bachelor’s degree in Letras from UFRJ completed between 2000 and 2006.

Costa has contributed to the field through publications in academic journals and participation in national and international congresses, including events organized by the Associação Brasileira de Literatura Comparada. He authored the book Ressonâncias da Literatura Brasileira em Grande Sertão: Veredas. In addition to his teaching and research roles, he has served as president of the Associação de Docentes da UERJ (Asduerj). His professional experience also encompasses teaching Portuguese and literature at various institutions and community education initiatives.
