Heather Ross is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and a cardiologist at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at University Health Network. She has held leadership positions including Head of the Division of Cardiology at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre and scientific lead for the Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research. Her research interests include transplantation, cardiovascular systems, clinical trials, heart failure, end-of-life care, and related areas in pharmacology and toxicology.
Ross earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Queen’s University, a medical degree from the University of British Columbia, and completed cardiology specialization at Dalhousie University followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in heart failure and heart transplantation at Stanford University. She also holds a master’s degree in bioethics from the University of Toronto. She is a recipient of the Order of Canada and has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications on advanced heart failure and transplantation outcomes.
