He serves as vice-coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Physical Geography at FFLCH/USP and coordinates the Núcleo de Pesquisa em Pedologia Aplicada (NUPPA). Queiroz holds a bachelor's degree in agronomy from the Universidade Federal do Ceará (2008–2014), a master's degree in soil science from the same institution (2014–2016), and a PhD in agronomy (soils and plant nutrition) from the Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (ESALQ/USP, 2017–2021), with a period of study at the University of California, Riverside. He completed postdoctoral research supported by FAPESP (2021–2023) at USP focusing on the vulnerability of mangrove soils to climate change, particularly iron and carbon biogeochemistry and implications for ecosystem services, and additional postdoctoral work at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas supported by FUNCAMP on soil health and carbon stabilization in semi-arid Brazilian soils under Agave cultivation as part of the BRAVE project.

Queiroz's research centers on pedogenesis and soil geochemistry, contaminated soils, greenhouse gas emissions, carbon dynamics, and hydromorphic soils in coastal ecosystems. He is a member of the Brazilian Soil Health Partnership linked to the Centro de Estudos de Carbono em Agricultura Tropical (CCARBON) at USP. Queiroz has served as editor or guest editor for special issues in the journals Minerals, Frontiers in Marine Science, and Environmental Research Communications, and as an editorial board member of Discover Soil.
