About Hiroshi

Professor Hiroshi Kominami is a faculty member in the Department of Applied Chemistry at Kindai University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering. He earned his PhD from Kyoto University in 1993. His career at Kindai University began in 1993 as a Research Assistant, followed by appointments as Lecturer in 2000, Assistant Professor in 2004, and Associate Professor in 2007. He served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the California Institute of Technology from 1998 to 1999 and was appointed Professor in 2014. He also holds concurrent or visiting positions at other institutions, including the Graduate School of Innovative Engineering and the Graduate School of Molecular and Material Engineering.

Professor Kominami’s research focuses on physical chemistry and catalytic chemistry, with particular emphasis on the design and development of functional photocatalysts, selective photocatalytic reactions, energy conversions, environmentally friendly substance conversions, and the recycling of used chemicals. He serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology C. His teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in physical chemistry, nanotechnology, and related fields. His professional email address is hiro@apch.kindai.ac.jp.
