Professor Hongbo Jiang is a full professor in the College of Plant Protection at Southwest University. He earned his Ph.D. from Southwest University, where his doctoral research examined the molecular mechanisms of insecticide resistance in stored-product insects. After completing postdoctoral or research associate work abroad, including time associated with Kansas State University, he returned to China in December 2014 and joined the faculty at Southwest University.
His primary research focuses on the molecular physiology and neurophysiology of chemoreception in pests, as well as broader areas of invertebrate molecular biology, insect chemical ecology, and pest management. He is affiliated with the Key Laboratory of Entomology and Pest Control Engineering. Professor Jiang contributes to the field through his work on tephritid flies and related topics in insect pest management.
