Rate My Professor Hugo Martel

Hugo Martel is a full professor in the Department of Physics, Engineering Physics and Optics at Université Laval, where he has held his position since 2004. He earned his Ph.D. in Astronomy from Cornell University in 1989. His academic work centers on theoretical and numerical cosmology, with particular emphasis on the formation and evolution of galaxies and large-scale structures in the universe.

Martel previously served as Canada Research Chair in Numerical Cosmology. He has received multiple Étoile de l'enseignement awards from the Faculté des sciences et de génie at Université Laval in recognition of his teaching excellence. He is affiliated with the Centre de recherche en astrophysique du Québec and contributes to research projects supported by provincial and university funding programs focused on astrophysics.
