About Ikuyuki

Ikuyuki Mitsuishi is a Lecturer in the Graduate School of Science at Nagoya University, affiliated with the Department of Physics in the School of Science. He earned his PhD (Science) from the Graduate School of Science at the University of Tokyo in March 2012. Prior to joining Nagoya University in April 2014, he held a position at Tokyo Metropolitan University from April 2012 to March 2014.

His research focuses on X-ray astronomy, with interests in satellite development, galaxy clusters, telescopes, and X-ray instrumentation. Mitsuishi has contributed to numerous publications in the field, including papers on high-speed atomic oxygen irradiation of graphene for astronomical applications (2024), soft X-ray energy spectra from HaloSat observations (2024), development of precise electroformed Wolter mirrors for X-ray astronomy (2020), high entropy and evidence for a merger in the galaxy cluster Abell 2399 (2018), and a large sample of shear-selected clusters from the Hyper Suprime-Cam Subaru Strategic Program (2018). He is a member of the Astronomical Society of Japan and has been involved in projects related to X-ray telescopes and satellite missions.
