James Williams is a Senior Lecturer Above the Bar in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Canterbury, within the Faculty of Engineering. He serves as Director of Teaching for Data Science and as Data Science Industry Coordinator. In these roles, he is responsible for developing new industry partnerships with the University of Canterbury and works closely with students, faculty, and industry to create opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and consulting.
Dr Williams is the founder of Modality and has been involved in the development of the Master of Applied Artificial Intelligence programme at the University of Canterbury. His professional activities focus on the intersection of data science, software engineering, and industry applications.
