Professor Jeannie van der Linde is Head of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at the University of Pretoria in the Faculty of Humanities. She holds a B. Communication Pathology (2004), an M. Communication Pathology (2008), and a D. Phil in Communication Pathology (2015), all from the University of Pretoria. Her research focuses on developmental screening in primary health care settings, early identification of developmental delays using mHealth tools, voice disorders, and stuttering disorders, with an emphasis on community engagement and improving access to care in underserved contexts. She has produced numerous peer-reviewed publications on these topics, including studies on the Parents' Evaluation of Developmental Status (PEDS) tools, vocal effectiveness, and communication delays in South African infants. Professor van der Linde maintains memberships in organizations such as the Health Professions Council of South Africa and the South African Speech-Language and Hearing Association, and she serves on its Research Committee. She holds a C2 rating from the National Research Foundation and has established collaborations with international scholars.
