About Jenna

Dr. Jenna Hepp, Ph.D., serves as an Assistant Professor of Counselling Psychology at Adler University in Vancouver, where she teaches courses in basic counselling skills, group therapy, and professional ethics. She is a counselor educator and clinician with expertise in adolescent mental health, group therapy, and creative therapeutic interventions. Her clinical experience includes residential treatment with adolescents and providing care to marginalized communities in rural areas, which informs her teaching and scholarship. Dr. Hepp is committed to expanding access to mental health care and preparing future practitioners to deliver effective, compassionate services across diverse communities.

Prior to joining Adler University, Dr. Hepp worked as a mental health counselor in the United States and taught courses at the University of Wyoming. She holds memberships in the American Psychological Association and the National Board of Certified Counselors. Her presentations include “Navigating Academic Restructuring: Advocacy Strategies for Counselor Education Programs” at the 2022 Rocky Mountain Association Counselor Education and Supervision conference, “Supporting Students with Post-Holiday Blues: Coping with Grief and Loss” at the 2022 Wyoming Counseling School Association webinar, “Exploring theories and models of clinical supervision” at the 2021 Wyoming Counseling Association Conference, “Ethics from the Client’s Perspective” at the 2021 Wyoming Counseling Association Conference, and “Maybe we’ll end here today” at the 2021 Counselor Education Distance Learning Conference. Her publications include the chapter “Preventing Substance Abuse for Youth” in the 2023 book A Systemic Approach to Substance Abuse & Addiction: The Power of Society edited by M. M. Mahr (Kendall Hunt) and the forthcoming activity “Activity 10.3: Color My Emotions” in the book Creativity in Counseling Children and Adolescents: A Guide to Experiential Activities edited by T. B. Fletcher and A. C. DeDiego (Routledge).
